The Pericam PSI System has been designed to meet the needs of our innovative customers within the clinical and research areas. By re-engineering existing laser technology we have developed Laser Speckle Contrast Analysis (LASCA) cameras that provide real time, high resolution perfusion images.
The LASCA technique involves creating a speckle pattern on tissue with a laser, and as red blood cells move in the illuminated area the intensity in the speckle fluctuates. These fluctuations are then measured to calculate the blood perfusion.
The PeriCam PSI System can be used in wide range of applications ranging from the study of mouse brains to support during surgery. They provide the opportunity to monitor rapid physiological changes in microcirculation in ways that were not possible in the past.
