Laser Doppler probes

Perimed has manufactured high-quality laser Doppler probes for many years, making it possible to study the microcirculation and blood perfusion/flow in almost any organ or tissue. Laser Doppler probes are available for all Perimed blood perfusion monitoring instruments such as the PeriFlux System 5000.

We offer a wide selection of probes as well as different types of disposable microtips for long-term implantation. According to the intended use, probes are divided into five different groups:

• non-invasive probes
• non-invasive probes with heating capability
• invasive probes
• surgical invasive probes
• custom-designed probes

All probes use a silica fiber with a core diameter of 0.125 mm. The probes are reinforced with Kevlar® for increased strength. Probes are available with fiber separations from 0.15 to 1.2 mm. Standard separation is 0.25 mm.

Probes have fiber-optic cable lengths of 2.50 m (other lengths available).

All probes and microtips can be sterilized using STERRAD® (Johnson & Johnson). They can also be sterilized by gas or radiation, or chemically disinfected using glutaraldehyde (Cidex® or similar). Note: Temperature for probes and microtips must not exceed 65°C.
