PeriFlux 6000 - Transcutaneous oxygen (TCOM monitor)

PeriFlux 6000 is the latest generation transcutaneous oxygen and carbon dioxide monitoring equipment from Perimed suitable for accurate wound diagnostics. Small and portable, the PeriFlux 6000 is operated using a touchscreen interface. Remote panel systems are available to facilitate use in hyperbaric chambers. The PeriFlux 6000 is HIPAA compliant.

Features

Up to 8 channels

PeriFlux 6000 consists of a main unit which can be equipped with up to 8 channels of tcpO2/tcpCO2. Each channel is used together with one Clark type electrode (for tissue oxygen monitoring) or one combined pO2/pCO2 sensor (for tcpO2/tcpCO2).

Step-by-step instructions

Step-by-step instructions guide the user throughout the procedure. Several test may be implemented adapting the workflow to different clinical examinations. It is also possible to extend a baseline measurement with a provocation such as an oxygen challenge (tcpO2 measurement during 100 % oxygen inhalation), whenever necessary.

Document tcpO2 sites

For best wound healing assessment it is important to view tcpO2 data in relation to the wound. Documentation of wounds with photos is already standard at many hospitals. A photo of the wound can be incorporated directly into the report by connecting a digital camera to the instrument. The SITE section in the PeriFlux 6000 software makes it possible to indicate each tcpO2 site directly in the photo and to assure correct color coding and naming.

Automatic report generator

To ensure correct wound diagnostics, a comprehensive report summarizing all the results, including exact site positioning documentation, is printed or exported as a PDF file when the examination is completed. The report template can be customized according to the requirements of the user.

Connect to PC

The PeriFlux 6000 operates as a standalone system but may also be connected to a PC. The PC module software - PeriFlux Configuration Software (PCS) – is used to transfer data from the instrument to a PC. In PCS data can be reviewed and edited. PCS is also used for defining test and report templates. 

For recording measurements directly to a PC, you need to install our PeriSoft for Windows Examination Manager (PSW ExM) software, which also allows the instrument to become DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) and HL7 (Healthcare Language Level 7) compatible.

Extend with other tests

As part of the PeriFlux product family, the PeriFlux 6000 tcpO2 can be completed with additional functionality. Add laser Doppler and pressure to extend your vascular evaluation with a toe pressure and ankle-brachial index (ABI).

Common configurations

PeriFlux 6000 is a flexible system that can be tailored to the specific need of each customer. There are five packages to start with, PeriFlux 6000 Combined Standard and Premium, PeriFlux 6000 tcpO2 and PeriFlux 6000 Peripheral pressure Standard and Premium. Additional options are available for each package. It is always possible to upgrade to another package or add additional channels to increase the number of measurement sites, at any time.

Premium: Toe pressure, ABI, 3 X tcpO2 and PVR.
Standard: Toe pressure, ABI, 2 X tcpO2 and PVR.

PeriFlux 6000 Peripheral pressure

All noninvasive vascular tests required for an accurate PAD diagnosis including accurate toe pressure measurments. Possible to upgrade to a PeriFlux 6000 Combined at any time.
Premium: Toe pressure, ABI and PVR. Local heating function.
Standard: Toe pressure, ABI and PVR.

Why measure tcpO2?

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and microvascular impairment will influence the outcome of a wound. To prevent limb loss, the degree of ischemia has to be assessed early. Transcutaneous oxygen (tcpO2) has proven to be a useful tool to predict wound healing potential. tcpO2 monitoring is particularly important in patients with critical limb ischemia and/or diabetes, as these patients commonly have impaired microvascular function and falsely elevated ABI values.
