PeriFlux 6000 - intelligence combined

PeriFlux 6000 offers the unique possibility to combine both macrovascular (toe pressure and ABI) and microvascular (tcpO2) measurements. Using the same instrument and software, high-quality diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and an accurate assessment of the wound healing potential may be obtained.This will assist in making the correct treatment decisions, patients prioritizations and to avoid unnecessary amputations.

Macrovascular tests - Toe pressure, ABI, PVR

The PeriFlux 6000 offers a range of macrovascular diagnostic tests including toe pressure, ankle pressure, Pulse Volume Recording (PVR) and segmental pressure. The measuring procedure is facilitated by up to 12 pressure outlets and built-in pressure pump. The PSW ExM application software includes automatic calculation of Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) and Toe Brachial Index (TBI) as well as a dedicated treadmill protocol. Laser Doppler probes are used for detection,which have proven to be sensitive also on digital vessels.

Microvascular tests - tcpO2

Not only the macrocirculation influences the wound healing process, a functioning microcirculation is also essential. Therefore, for accurate assessment of wound healing potential or correct amputation level determination, it is recommended to perform microvascular tests. Transcutaneous oxygen (tcpO2), tissue response to local heating and Skin Perfusion Pressures (SPP) are established tests possible with the PeriFlux 6000.

Time saving

The PSW ExM software offers an exclusive option to perform several vascular tests in parallel, saving time. Many hospitals do not perform transcutaneous oxygen (tcpO2) measurements routinely as it is considered to take too long. With parallel testing, toe and ankle pressures can be measured at the same time as a baseline tcpO2, providing all information needed for correct clinical decisions. Adaptable tests and workflows

Each examination can be streamlined according to the individual patient. For example, a patient with a diabetic foot ulcer should be evaluated using toe pressure and tcpO2 measurements. Whereas a patient with walking pain should be examined using ABI and toe pressure.

Step-by-step instructions, automatic report

The user is guided throughout the procedure by clear instructions available in several languages. The operator independent workflow provides reliable results at any time. At the end, all test results are displayed in an automatically generated report in which photos for wound documentation may be included.

Solution for cold ischemic feet

It may be difficult to measure distal pressures in patients with cold ischemic feet. Therefore, many vascular labs routinely warm the feet of their patients using IR lamps, foot baths or other methods. The PeriFlux 6000 offers an alternative solution. By using a combined heat and laser Doppler probe, it is possible to heat the skin locally at the measurement point and avoid time-consuming, inexact traditional methods.

HL7 and DICOM compatible

The PSW ExM application software is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) and HL7 (Healthcare Language Level 7) compatible. Patient information (worklists)can be imported and examination results exported automatically.

Common configurations

PeriFlux 6000 is a flexible system that can be tailored to the specific need of each customer. There are five packages to start with, PeriFlux 6000 Combined Standard and Premium, PeriFlux 6000 tcpO2 and PeriFlux 6000 Peripheral pressure Standard and Premium. Additional options are available for each package. It is always possible to upgrade to another package or add additional channels to increase the number of measurement sites, at any time.

All noninvasive vascular tests required for an accurate PAD diagnosis including accurate toe pressure measurments. Possible to upgrade to a PeriFlux 6000 Combined at any time.

Clinical benefits

Why evaluate both macro and micro?

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is often more aggressive in diabetics and the risk for a major amputation is high. Patients with Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) have arterial lesions that critically disturb the nutrient blood flow to the tissues. Both macrovascular disease and microvascular dysfunction impair the perfusion in these patients. Macrovascular tests provide limited information about the limb perfusion and wound healing potential. To more accurately estimate the severity of disease, additional microvascular evaluations such as transcutaneous oxygen (tcpO2), tissue response to local heating and/or Skin Perfusion Pressures (SPP) may be valuable.
