Cortical spreading depolarization

It is well known that the cerebral blood flow is coupled to the neuronal response in the brain. Events such as cortical spreading depolarization (CSD) or cortical spreading depression may therefore be characterized by studying  changes in the cerebral blood flow.

The PeriCam PSI System  is a blood perfusion imager that can be used to visualize changes in blood perfusion in real-time.  The PeriCam PSI System  is based on the laser speckle technique and allows you to study the cerebral blood flow  non-invasively by scanning through the skull of for example a mouse. The PIMSoft software facilitates the data evaluation and includes features such as viewing the data as video recordings, calculating the size of specific areas, analyzing time periods of interest - TOIs, saving common settings as projects and many more.
