Cutaneous wound healing can be used to evaluate how interventions influence the healing process and their potential to enhance wound closure or reduce scar formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-regular-font-size\">Following wound creation, subjects are measured at various intervals during the two-week healing period. Typically, researchers look for reductions in wound size and mature vasculature formation using CD31 and \u03b1-SMA immunohistochemistry. However, this approach involves euthanizing the animals at each measurement.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"relative w-full mx-auto pt-12 2xl:pt-12 pb-12 2xl:pb-12 none\">\n                        \n\n        <div class=\"section__content  max-w-4xl px-4 mx-auto sec_no_tabs\" >\n            \n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-2-font-size\">Overcoming challenges with PeriCam PSI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-p-regular-font-size\">PeriCam PSI can measure blood perfusion in wounds over the entire two-week healing period on the same animal, reducing the number of subjects needed and supporting robust findings.
