Strengthening the Nordic Sales team

I am pleased to announce the strengthening of our Nordic Sales team with the addition of two territory managers — Rickard Rönnqvist and Ola Kristiansson — who bring a solid understanding of the clinical landscape and the needs of healthcare professionals in the Nordics. I believe they will be instrumental in continuing our expansion of vascular assessment across the region. Sara Gyllensporre, who has been with Perimed for nearly 16 years, will step into a new role as a clinical application specialist for the Nordics.

To get to know Rickard and Ola a little better, I sat down with them and asked them a few questions about what drew them to Perimed, their approach to working with clinicians in the Nordic region, and how they feel they can contribute. This is what they had to say…

Ola Kristiansson — Territory Manager Norway, Denmark, and parts of southern Sweden

What do you think is the main challenge for vascular surgeons and clinicians in your region?

I believe the main challenge for vascular surgeons and clinicians in the Nordic region is getting the right balance. We have aging patient populations whose conditions are becoming increasingly complex while healthcare systems are under continuous pressure to improve efficiency, outcomes, and control costs. At the same time, clinicians are expected to adopt new technologies, generate clinical evidence, and maintain high procedural quality. This altogether creates a strong need for solutions that are not only clinically valuable but also easy to integrate into existing workflows and supported by robust clinical education and industry partnerships.

What made this the right time for you to make a career change?

After many years in clinical specialist, sales, and commercial leadership roles within interventional and vascular MedTech, I felt it was the right time to take the next step and focus more on long-term clinical value and partnerships. Perimed’s focus on microcirculation, physiological assessment, and evidence-based solutions aligns well with my experience of supporting clinicians beyond the procedure itself. This felt like a natural next step, allowing me to combine my clinical understanding, strategic mindset, and relationship-driven approach at a company with a strong scientific foundation and long-term vision.

What matters most in developing long-term relationships with healthcare professionals?

Trust, credibility, and consistency. Healthcare professionals value partners who strive to understand their clinical reality, respect their time, and consistently deliver on commitments.

For me, long-term relationships are built by being present, listening carefully, and adding value beyond the product. Through education, clinical support, and honest dialogue. When clinicians feel that you are invested in their success and patient outcomes, the relationship becomes a partnership rather than a transactional interaction.

How has your previous experience shaped how you approach new customers?

My background as a clinical specialist, product specialist, and territory manager has strongly influenced how I approach new customers. I always start by understanding the clinical workflow, decision-making process, and unmet needs before discussing solutions.

Having worked closely with physicians, nurses, and technicians in live clinical environments, I am comfortable engaging in in-depth discussions and adapting my approach to different stakeholders. This allows me to position solutions in a relevant and meaningful way, while building credibility early in the relationship.

What are you hoping to learn in your new role?

I am looking forward to expanding and deepening my knowledge of microcirculation and diagnostic technologies, and to further develop my understanding of how physiological data can support clinical decision-making.

I am also eager to learn from Perimed’s experienced team and to gain insight into how long-term clinical research, education, and innovation are translated into sustainable growth across different Nordic healthcare systems.

Rickard Rönnqvist — Territory Manager Finland and (most of) Sweden

What do you feel is the main challenge for vascular surgeons and clinicians in your region?

For some time now, I’ve seen the challenges that come with managing complex patient profiles, dealing with significant workforce shortages, and keeping up with rapid technological changes. On top of that, the lack of care facilities complicates postoperative care. Here in Sweden, the shortage of specialist nurses means high workloads and constant struggles to staff operating rooms and care wards.

What made this the right time for you to make a career change?

I have always been deeply passionate about healthcare and patient well-being. I believe in providing the best treatment options for every patient, which goes hand in hand with accurate diagnostics. The timing felt right for me, as this opportunity aligns with my skills and gave me the chance to develop within vascular diagnostics while contributing to patient outcomes.

What matters most in developing long-term relationships with healthcare professionals?

Building trust, along with open and effective communication, is pivotal. By working alongside healthcare professionals with shared goals, we can improve healthcare and enhance the quality of life for all patients

How has your previous experience shaped how you approach new customers?

I think it’s important to have a clear strategy that focuses on what matters most to the customer and their needs. Involving all relevant staff and decision-makers is key.

What are you hoping to learn in your new role?

I’m hoping to gain a deeper understanding of peripheral vascular measurement solutions to improve patient outcomes and expand treatment options. I also want to learn more about the importance of blood circulation and the impact it has on millions of lives

Sara Gyllensporre — clinical application specialist

After nearly 16 years with Perimed, Sara is one of our most valued team members. She is transitioning from her sales role to clinical application specialist for the Nordics. In this new capacity, she will continue to support our customers in the region directly, helping them get the most out of our instruments, while mentoring and training our new sales colleagues. Her extensive knowledge of our solutions and clinical context is an invaluable asset to the team and for our customers.

“As a clinical application specialist, my aim is to function as a bridge between the innovative medical technology that Perimed provides and the clinicians and researchers who work in a hands-on manner with our systems. I see myself as an enabler, translating technical features into improved workflows and patient outcomes. Throughout my career at Perimed, I’ve met with clinicians and their patients, providing technical and clinical clarity in a fast-paced environment — that’s been highly rewarding and is a daily motivator.”
